Batik is an ideal crafts field in Malaysia. Since the 15th century AD, man has found the traditional method of making batik. In the past, the Malays use potatoes as a taster but now batik fabrics have been developed by using modern tools. Batik was first introduced in our country especially in Kelantan since 1910 again. Batik originated in Indonesia and is derived from the Javanese word 'tik' which means dripping or write the dots. Ambatik also means drawing, writing, painting or drip. In the Malay world, a kind of batik called Rainbow Batik was introduced in 1770's. In Malaysia, most of the batik industry factories abound in Kelantan and Terengganu.
